Your Tetris memories & Local matches

I remember playing Tetris on my original GameBoy on my way to the NYC Nintendo World Championship at the Jacob Javitz Convention Center. I had practiced Super Mario Brothers and Rad Racer at home and was honing in on my Tetris score. I had scored my best score ever on the way to the competition. I made it to the semi-finals but didn’t make it onto the main stage area during it.I'd love to hear of anyone else's Tetris memories on the comments section.
If anyone is in Central NJ and wants to meet somewhere public for some local LAN matches, let me know thru comments.

My history of playing Tetris

I've been enjoying Tetris DS since it was released on March 22, 2006.Previous to this edition - I have been playing Tetris with my original Game Boy since 1989. My all-time high score on original GB Tetris (Game A) has been 580,697. My Game B high score which I call the ultimate score is 84,962. I call it the ultimate score because you have to play a game with 7 continues Tetris(s) to make the 84,000 score on Game B level 9. Then the remaining score is made up of drop points.
I upgraded to playing Tetris DX around 2001 and has been my favorite version up until Tetris DS. My highest score on that game has been 7,552,980 with 2,725 lines completed.
I've been enjoying playing Tetris online thru Nintendo WiFi. My two player win rate is 66.38% and I’ve come in first or second on 4 player mode 80.49% of the time.
I’ve been to Nintendo World in NYC a number of times and attended the 5/7/06 and was able to play against a bunch of great players. I had hoped I could have set-up a 10 player match but only got up to playing 3 other people. I live in central New Jersey if anyone is in the area and would like to get together for some wireless games. I would like to try and get a 10-player match going.
